From Town Hall to Margaritaville: Security Congress Member Events

Aug 29, 2016

The sixth annual (ISC)2 Security Congress is just a few weeks away. The event, colocated with ASIS Seminar and Expo, will take place at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida from September 12-14. The annual (ISC)2 Town Hall Meeting will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 11.

The member-only meeting will consist of remarks from (ISC)2 CEO, David Shearer, on what to expect at the Congress event, as well as in the coming year for members. As in previous years, members are able to submit questions for (ISC)2 Management and Board of Directors to address. These questions can be about membership, certifications, or just about the industry in general. Questions can be submitted via email to congress@isc2.org or via Twitter using the hashtag #Congress16TownHall.

Tuesday evening will be the annual member party. This year’s celebration will be held at Kings Bowling, a state-of-the-art bowling alley with stunning design and gourmet cuisine. Members and non-members with a full-conference pass can enjoy bowling, billiards, and karaoke while they network.

On the evening of Wednesday, September 14, the 2016 (ISC)² Americas Information Security Leadership Awards (ISLA®) will be handed out to the best and the brightest in cybersecurity. The dinner and ceremony will be held at Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville at Universal CityWalk. Attendees will enjoy a cocktail reception with live music. Tickets to the Americas ISLA ceremony and dinner also include CityWalk party passes. Tickets are on sale until September 8 and seating is limited. This year’s keynote speaker will be Jim Davis, the creator of Garfield. Garfield will serve as the ‘spokescat’ for the new Safe and Secure Online program that will debut at Security Congress.
