Meet the Recipients of the 2021 (ISC)² Diversity Global Achievement Awards
The (ISC)² Diversity Award honors individuals who have made significant contributions to building a more diverse workforce in the cybersecurity community.
Asia-Pacific Region (ISC)² Diversity Award Honoree
Neha Malhotra, CISSP, CCSP is the Vice President, Tech & Cybersecurity Operational Risk Manager at JP Morgan Chase , and was earlier working within Cyber Security Attack Surface Management at Credit Suisse . Neha is an information & cybersecurity professional based in Singapore, with more than 15 years of IT and leadership experience within the BFSI, consulting and manufacturing sectors. Neha was nominated for her advocacy work mentoring and serving as a career advisor for women in cybersecurity.
She serves on the board of (ISC)² Singapore Chapter and is a cyber champion driving security awareness. She is a mentor to young professionals and students, and actively supports building talent and promoting diversity in STEM and cyber.
Neha says that winning these awards confirms that she is on the right trajectory, inspires her to continue learning and contributing to the security profession and industry, while motivating others to do so as well. She said, “we need to continue focusing on building a skilled resources pipeline, to address the cyber skill shortage, ensure more diversity and encourage collaboration amongst professionals.”
North America Region (ISC)² Diversity Award Honoree
Julian Waits, is the SVP & Entrepreneur in Residence for Rapid7 and has more than 30 years in senior leadership roles at technology companies, specializing in security, risk and threat detection. He serves on several industry boards, including ICMCP and NICE, promoting development of the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.
He is the Chairman of the Board for the International Consortium of Minority Cybersecurity Professionals (ICMCP) and is dedicated to the academic and professional success of Minority Cybersecurity students and professionals. ICMCP offers its members undergraduate and post-graduate scholarships, leadership training, professional development, mentoring opportunities, career placement services and more. Personally, he has mentored more than 50 individuals as they advance in their cybersecurity careers.
Julian takes an active role in supporting employees from minority populations. He is an executive that truly cares about the employees at his company and take a vested interest in career growth and fosters a culture of acceptance and inclusion.
The (ISC)² Global Achievement Awards celebrate individuals whose excellence, leadership and volunteer efforts have significantly advanced the cybersecurity industry and contributed to our vision of inspiring a safe and secure cyber world. All honorees will be recognized during (ISC)² Security Congress .
