The Professional Development Institute Launches Three New Courses
The Professional Development Institute (PDI) is expanding with three new express learning courses: Risk Fundamentals, Forensic Data Acquisitions and Securing the Remote Work Force. These new offerings are self-paced courses separated into two modules that qualify for two CPE credits. The PDI catalog now features 40on-demand courses free for (ISC)² members and associates and available for purchase as individual courses or bundled course access to anyone who is not an (ISC)² member. Let’s take a look at the new offerings:
Risk Fundamentals covers the basics of ever-present risks in business and the field of cybersecurity and prepares you to proactively manage risk. While each organization determines its unique risks, there are commonalities among the terms, concepts, and skills needed to measure and manage risk. Risk Fundamentals guides you through communicating and embedding risk management into workplace practices, enabling you to apply risk management practices to the reduction of risk associated with employee safety, wellness, and decision-making.
Forensic Data Acquisition enhances your understanding of cybercrime and e-discovery to digital forensics investigations. Learn how you can adopt a process for forensics data acquisition and evidence preservation. Digital forensics evidence is held to the same standards as physical evidence in court for crimes including fraud, espionage, cyberstalking, data theft, or violent crimes. Security professionals have a critical need to understand the technical, legal, and administrative challenges facing data forensics. This Express Learning course explains the digital forensics scientific process, data acquisition methods, and digital evidence handling and preservation principles. This course will be available in Japanese and Spanish translations next month, June 2021.
Securing the Remote Work Force enables you to recognize security risks specific to remote work, analyze environmental challenges to remote work, and distinguish technical best practices. Although it’s been a growing trend in business circles over the past decade, the subject of remote work has become an increasingly important topic for businesses since early 2020. The increased availability of portable, inexpensive, and highly capable computing and communications technology combined with nearly ubiquitous internet availability means employees no longer need to be constrained within the confines of a corporate office.
